Janet Martinez received her training in metalsmithing at Colorado State University. After learning many of the techniques available to metalsmiths, Janet decided to begin with the simplest techniques and slowly build from there. This basic approach is most evident in her piecework - metal she has cut out by hand using a jeweler's saw. Additional techniques include acid etching and overlay.
